It's research time again and on this occasion I got out of London and headed for RAF Cosford in Shropshire in pursuit of something magical - the restoration of one of only three known Handley Page Hampden bombers.

My second stint at university has come to an end, with the submission of my dissertation - 15,000 words of a novel. At the risk of sounding like a corporate brochure, it marks another milestone in taking my writing seriously, but, more importantly, it's made me realise how lucky I have been to get to know other writers.
